Hey everybody, Ryan here at Etrailer. Today on our 2017 Ford Focus, we're gonna be checking out the Roadmaster Tow Defender Protective Screening. So you get your Ford all set up to be flat towed and you want to protect the front of it. You know, it makes sense. These motorhomes tend to throw a lot of, you know, pebbles and gravel and sand and rock when they're going down the road and all that can bounce back and come up and tear up the front of your Focus. Roadmaster Automatic Battery Disconnect Installation - 2017 Ford Focus- Video
Hey, everybody, Ryan here at etrailer. Today on our 2017 Ford Focus we're going to be showing you how to install the Roadmaster Automatic Battery Disconnect switch. But before we get into that, why don't we just take a minute, check this out, and make sure it's gonna work for you. What this kit is going to allow you to do is to easily disconnect and reconnect the battery and power on your Focus. And you need to do that because with the Focus, at least in our case, with the automatic transmission, Ford wants you to disconnect the battery whenever you're flat towing. And that don't sound too bad at first, but having to remember to disconnect it every time and get your tools out and pop the hood and go, you know, remove it, remove your terminal, you know, and then doing that whenever you're ready to take your car out for a spin, that could get old real quick. more

Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit Installation - 2017 Ford Focus- Video
Hey everybody, Ryan here at etrailer. Today on our 2017 Ford Focus, we're gonna be showing you how to install the Roadmaster towed vehicle battery charge line kit. Before we do that though, let's just check this out and talk about why it's a good idea to run one of these. A battery charge line kit is something that I recommend for pretty much every flat tow that I set up and I say that because it's gonna keep your battery and the vehicle topped off and charged whenever you're flat towing. And the reason that your battery can potentially go dead is for one, just to kind of have it in flat tow mode. Certain vehicles are set up that way, but these supplemental braking systems are gonna use the vehicle's battery to operate whenever you hit the brakes. more

Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit Installation - 2018 Ford Focus- Video

So now on our 2018 Ford Focus, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Road master battery Charge Line Kit.So this is what the Charge Line Kit is going to look like. Now the reason a Charge Line Kit is beneficial to you is because whenever you're flat towing your vehicle, the braking system is actually going to be hooked up to your vehicle's battery and that's where it's going to get its power from. So over time as you're driving down the road for hours, this battery is going to be constantly getting drained and not charged back up.Well with the Charge Line Kit, it's going to use the power that is generated by your motor homes charging system, to run it back and more or less trickle charge your battery. That way whenever you get to your campsite and disconnect, you're not going to have to worry about your battery in your car being dead, potentially have to go around and ask for a jump to get it going.And it's going to eliminate the need every so often to have to stop on your road trip, get out, start your car up, make sure everything's good, but this is just something you're not going to have to worry about. And one of the main questions we get from our customers is if it's going to affect their motor homes battery, the answer is no. more

Ryan: Hey, everybody. Ryan here at etrailer.com. Today on our 2014 Ford Focus we're going to be taking a look at and showing how to install the Roadmaster battery charge line kit for towed vehicles. This is going to be one of six main components needed to flat tow your Focus down the road. The other five are going to be your baseplate, your tow bar, your tow bar wiring, a braking system, and safety cables.Now many of our customers are fairly new to the flat tow world, and they're unaware that their Focus battery will get drained as they flat tow it down the road. In turn, what'll happen is your get to the campsite or get to your destination and you won't be able to start your car. more

Roadmaster Automatic Battery Disconnect Installation - 2014 Ford Focus- Video
Speaker 1: Today on our 2014 Ford Focus, we're going to be installing the Roadmaster's automatic battery disconnect, part number RM-766. This battery disconnect kit is going to decrease the time it takes you to get your vehicle into the flat tow position and also minimize the need to get under the hood, pull out your tools, and all that extra work. Normally to tow your Focus, you would need to place it in the tow position and then disconnect the negative battery cable, but with our battery disconnect kit here, this solenoid has a switch that runs to the inside, so we can just place it in that tow position, hit the button, and it will automatically disconnect our battery from the vehicle. This eliminates the need for us to get under here and have to take off the cable manually, which we may require tools that you may or may not have, and it's also just more time consuming so you don't even need to open the hood.We now have our vehicle set into the tow mode position, but as you can see we're still getting some beeping noises, and we still have some computer and other systems activated. This will cause your battery to drain and may also cause some of your computer systems to activate while driving down the road. We can now hit the button that we've positioned right here. more

Roadmaster Automatic Battery Disconnect Installation - 2018 Ford Focus- Video
Speaker 1: Today on our 2018 Ford Focus, we're going to be installing Roadmaster's Automatic Battery Disconnect, Part Number RM-766. You're flat-towing your Focus and you notice when you get to your destination your battery's dead. Some ways to combat this is to disconnect your battery's cable underneath the hood, but an easier way is to install a battery disconnect switch. This way, with a quick press of a button you can disconnect and reconnect your battery.Here you can see our solenoid. What's nice about this is it's a one time install, so you don't have to worry about getting underneath your hood, and disconnecting your cables over and over. You can just hit that button on the inside and activate your solenoid here on the outside. more

Roadmaster Car Side Tow Bar Quick Disconnects Installation - 2014 Ford Focus- Video
Speaker 1: Today on our 2014 Ford Focus we're going to be taking a look at showing you how to install the Roadmaster Tow Bar Quick Disconnect for the car side only, part number RM-222.So if you're looking for replacement brackets for your quick disconnect system, this is going to be a great option. This is going to allow us to use that quick disconnect bar to hook up our tow bar to our front of our base plate on our vehicle. Also, it's still going to allow us to remove the arms when we're not towing.That way when we're driving around when we're not towing it's going to be a lot less visible on the front of our vehicle. Our quick disconnect brackets have a steel construction, the black powder coat finish, so they're not only going to last a long time, but they're going to look good as well. They're designed to work with a wide variety of Roadmaster tow bars, such as the Stonemaster, Stonemaster All Terrain, and the Falcon All Terrain and some others. Roadmaster High-Low Hitch Adapter Installation - 2014 Ford Focus- Video
Speaker 1: Today on our 2014 Ford Focus, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Roadmaster High-low Adapter for tow bars with a 6" riser drop, part #RM-048-6. The way you're gonna know if you need a high-low adapter for your flat tow set up is first, we're gonna start at our motorhome and we're gonna measure from the ground to the pin hole on our receiver tube. Now I'm getting a measurement of right about 22.5". Now we're gonna move over to the vehicle and we're gonna measure from the ground to where our tow bar's gonna mount right at the center. And over here, I'm getting a measurement of right about 16.5". So we've got about a 6" difference. more

Roadmaster Quick Disconnect Tow Bar Base Assembly Installation - 2014 Ford Focus- Video
Speaker 1: Today on our 2014 Ford Focus, we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Roadmaster Quick Disconnect Tow Bar Base Assembly, part number 910021-00. This is gonna replace either a lost or damaged bar on your Roadmaster Falcon Two, Falcon All-Terrain, Sterling All-Terrain, or the Blackhawk Two All-Terrain Tow Bar Assemblies. I do wanna mention that it's not gonna work with Tracker Tow Bar because the pins are gonna be different sizes.In your kit, you're gonna get the crossbar which is gonna span from one side of the base plate to the other. All the included pins and clips as well as the disconnect bracket that's gonna mount to the base plate itself, as well as all the necessary hardware to get it into place. We remove the pins and clips. You can see how easily we can pull the bar off or reinstall it, if we're by ourselves. more

Roadmaster Automatic Battery Disconnect Installation - 2015 Ford Focus- Video
Today on our 2015 Ford Focus, we're going to be taking a look at and installing the Roadmaster Automatic Battery Disconnect with Switch for Towed Vehicles with Supplemental Braking System, part number RM-766. Here's what it looks like once its installed. This solenoid is going to completely turn off all the power to your towed vehicle, therefore not allowing your vehicle to drain the battery as its going down the road with the key on. This will work with almost any 12-volt system. It's going to come preassembled. It uses a marine-grade solenoid with a 200-amp constant duty and a 600-amp surge. It's also going to help trickle charge your battery of your towed vehicle as you're going down the road while it's hooked to the back of your RV. There are going to be great for a vehicle that requires you to have all the power turned off on your vehicle while it's being flat-towed. more
